Welome FFD 2007

Since its inception in 2001, the Festival Film Dokumenter (FFD) has endeavored to revive the Indonesian documentary film and encourage the making of international-caliber, yet uniquely Indonesian documentary. Over the years, the major goals of the Festival have been to: 1. Improve the qualith of Indonesian documentary, thus creating International documentary winner. 2. Competition arena to give awarding for the best works, from local creator, as well as beginner or professional. 3. Socialization space of documentary film to students, young people, and public society. 4. Learning arena of documentary film for creator candidates and beginner creator, also for student and young people. 5. Appreciation arena of documentary works, from domestic and foreign country, from beginner neither professional.

The FFD has been successful in achieving these goals and some others. Year after year, FFD became a collective space for sharing of experience and knowledge between creators, academics, and documentary film practitioner specifically and film persons and media generally.

This year, the f estival celebrates documentary with a special focus on humanity themes compiled in Perspective program , showcasing films from internationally renowned filmmakers of the region by launching a new special programme: south-south doc , This is FFD's contribution to humanity and in other side, stimulate significant progresiveness of our documentary. The Spectrum programme will be fulfil with the diversity of the documentary, multi colour, themes and genre . I nviting Guest Programmer from A frica with African documentary and Asia with Asian Documentary to promote documentary exchange and its diversity, this year's f estival c enterpiece.
